As the first Church of England school in Watford, St John’s Church of England Primary School opened its doors to 30 reception children in September 2016. Now based in a purpose-built building in Central Watford, our school community is diverse, inclusive and supportive.

St John’s Church of England Primary School is committed to safeguarding children and young people and all staff are expected to share in this commitment. All post holders are subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

All posts are classed as having a high degree of contact with children or vulnerable adults and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. An enhanced disclosure will be sought through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) as part of pre-employment checks. Any successful applicants who have spend a significant time outside of the United Kingdom will be required to provide proof that they do not have any overseas criminal convictions.

All applicants will undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and an application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Data Protection – All information gathered will be retained for the purpose of this specific recruitment process. Data of all unsuccessful applicants will be destroyed 6 months after the completion of this process.

A probationary period is applicable for all support staff. Any personal data supplied will be processed for recruitment processes only. We store any data provided within a secure system with access restricted to those who require it for the recruitment process for this role. Personal data relating to unsuccessful applicants will be destroyed 6 months after this process concludes.
