Duties – to oversee the children changing their library books on a Friday morning, to liaise with the class teacher(s) so that the books on display in the library complement the current curriculum focus and to champion the use of the library within the school.

Community Champions

Could you be one of our Community Champions?
Are you passionate about education?
Are you professional and able to connect to parents/carers within the community?
Do you speak other languages?
St John’s Primary School is looking for a team of volunteers to help spread the word about our Primary School which opened in central Watford in September 2016. We need professional people to go out into the community to raise awareness and attract families to the school. You might have experience of working in marketing or public relations. You might be able to translate into other languages or have knowledge of a particular section of our community. You might be seeking an opportunity to increase your confidence in talking to people prior to returning to the work-place.

As a community champion you will be making a real difference to families in central Watford by providing much needed primary school spaces for our vibrant and growing community.

There are other opportunities available from time to time. If you are interested in volunteering at St John’s, please complete the initial volunteering form and return it to the school. We will evaluate your skill set and availability against our current needs. Successful volunteers will be invited for an initial meeting with the Headteacher. If you become a regular volunteer, we will require you to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
