Our Church

Welcome to St John’s Church, Watford, a church which lies in the heart of this Hertfordshire town and is a member of the Church of England.

We are a growing and diverse fellowship of Christians proud of our Anglican heritage and we strive to provide the most dignified worship we can. Our main Sunday service is at 10:30 and is a traditional Anglo-Catholic Eucharist Service. We also have a regular programme of weekday communion services as well as an occasional Taize service.

Our Sunday School, The Ark, is going from strength to strength and meets every Sunday morning in our parish room for ages 4-13. We also have a family oriented Messy Church on the first Saturday of each month 11.00am -1.00pm. All ages are welcome to enjoy arts and crafts, a child led short service and a delicious communal lunch.

Social events are also important to us at St John’s and we have regular coffee mornings on a Wednesday, under fives playgroup on a Thursday afternoon and a youth club, The Hub, every Friday evening.

St John’s has been a place of prayer serving the local community since 1873; marrying couples, baptising children and adults and helping people say goodbye to loved ones at funerals. St John’s continues to serve the local community to this day.

We strive to be a welcoming and inclusive community welcoming all those who join us for our service and fellowship. If you would like to find out more about us please do contact us or come along to one of our services.
