We Will Never Forget.

10 Nov 2018

We held our Remembrance Service at 2.30pm today. All the teachers were very proud of the children for their fitting contributions to a solemn and important occasion.

The children had prepared songs, makaton signing, artwork, a dance, poems and prayers to mark the Centennary of the end of the First World War. It was wonderful that so many families were able to attend so that we could all pay our respects together. Father David led us in a two minute reflective silence where all the children bowed their heads with respect. A particluar well done to our four and five year olds! The ‘poppy’ artwork sat beautifully alongside the ‘There But Not There’ moving installation of transparent figures that are commemorating the end of the Great War. We will return to church on Sunday to represent the school alongside the St John’s Parish community.
