Are you experienced at working with and supporting children? Are you determined to make a difference to children’s lives?
We are adding to our strong dynamic team who are delivering educational excellence, embedded in Christian values, to the children of central Watford. St John’s C of E Primary School opened in September 2016 and is situated in Clarendon Road in the heart of Watford Town Centre.
The role will involve being part of the team of Eagle Play Mentors supervising pupils in their lunchtime period while eating and playing. St Johns prioritises calm lunchtimes.
Key areas of work will include:
Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children at lunchtimes.
Preparing the dining area for lunchtime
Serving food to the children (Food handling training will be provided).
Some light cleaning of the surfaces and dining areas
Supervising positive playtimes both outside and inside
Please note that we have playgrounds at ground and rooftop level and you will be required to work at both levels.
7.75 hrs per week, Monday to Friday. 38 weeks term time only (190 days in total). There will also be a requirement to attend training outside of these days, which will include, but not limited to, whole school training (INSET) days in September each year.
The post is graded at H1. Our lunchtimes are staggered and take place between 11am and 1:30pm (including set up and clear down). The role will be for one and a half hours per day (7.5 hours a week) with a one hour team meeting every 4 weeks. Your exact hours will depend on which classes you are working with.
We are a growing school and pride ourselves on retaining our staff. We have a number of lunchtime staff who have worked with us since we opened in 2016, either in the same role or having moved to another role within school.
There will also be an opportunity for the hours to increase in the future as our school grows.
