St John’s School Community Garden

Can you help us to create a small St John’s School Community Garden?

We would love to make the space outside of the entrance to our school look brighter, warmer and more welcoming. It would be wonderful to make use of two small flower beds to plant a tree, flowers or plants.

Volunteers are welcome to support this community project and work together to create a beautiful space.

Year 6 Residential, May 2023

Our first Year 6 residential took place earlier this week. The classroom was full of excited voices as the children waited to board the coach. They returned three days later, tired but happy. They had a fantastic time camping, climbing, learning about the great outdoors and spending time around a camp fire.

Thank you to our Headteacher, Miss Pyatt, our Year 6 Class Teacher, Mr Handley and our Key Stage One Lead, Miss Repova who accompanied the children.

Coronation Celebrations, 9th May 2023

All children and staff are welcome to wear red, white and blue  or a homemade crown to school on Tuesday 9th May 2023 to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III. There will also be a parade at the end of the day to celebrate this historical event.

St John’s C of E Primary School Exhibit at Watford Museum

We are excited about our upcoming exhibit at the Watford Museum. Everyone is welcome to come along from 3rd May to 5th June 2023 to learn more about our school’s history and to celebrate our St John’s community.

Class of 2023 Year 6 Leavers’ Hoodies

The Leavers’ Hoodies were delivered this week. The Class of 2023 are in their final term at St John’s Church of England Primary School. We’ve watched them grow, we’ll be sad to see them go but know that they have an exciting school journey ahead.

Inter School Gymnastics Competition

On Monday 27th March 2023, two teams from Year 3 and two teams from Year 5 participated in a inter-school gymnastics competition at Watford Girls Grammar School. The children represented the school very well and performed both their floor and vault routine with zest and vigour. A big congratulations goes to the Year 5 Lightning team for winning medals. It was noted that their smiley faces and great attitude gave them bonus points. Our teachers was very proud of everyone’s sportsmanship

The children have drawn bright and colourful drawing for the King’s coronation on 6th May 2023.

Year 6 Leavers Celebrations: Tree Planting in Cassiobury Park

Our Year 6 class visited Cassiobury Park to plant a group of trees as part of their Year 6 Leavers’ celebrations. Cassiobury Park has been a special part of the children’s time at St John’s Church of England Primary School and it was important that the part was included in our celebrations. The current class will be the first St John’s Year 6 Leavers and a number of events have been arranged to celebrate this milestone.

St John’s C of E Primary School Book Fair

We are celebrating the joy of reading by arranging a number of exciting events for St John’s C of E Primary School Book Week. Our latest event was the Book Fair in our school hall yesterday. We showcased books by Fleur Hitchcook and local author, Nizrana Farook. Both authors attended the event and signed copies of their books.

Teach in Herts Recruitment Fair

Our friendly school Leadership Team attended the Teach in Herts Recruitment Fair last Saturday. It was wonderful to meet newly qualified and experienced teachers as well as school staff who were interested in learning more about working at St John’s C of E Primary School
